Tianjin explosion shock wave: paint companies affected
Tianjin, the international logistics center in northern China, has risen from transport in ancient times. On November 21st of the second year of the Ming Dynasty (December 23, 1404), the city was officially built for more than 600 years. Today, this unique city that combines China and the West and is compatible with both ancient and modern times has once again attracted the attention of the world.
At about 23:20 pm on August 12, 2015, an explosion occurred in a dangerous goods warehouse owned by Tianjin Port Ruihai Company in Tianjin Binhai New Area. As of 15:00 this afternoon, the explosion had killed 44 people, 32 were critically injured, and more than 400 were injured. There were multiple explosions at the scene, one of which was equivalent to 21 tons of TNT. State President Xi Jinping said that he requested that the fire be controlled and eliminated as soon as possible, and the wounded be fully treated.
Observed from the map, many coatings companies are located within a perimeter of 5-6 kilometers from the explosion point. Due to the impact of the explosion, the doors and windows of some of the company's office buildings were severely damaged, and the ceiling of the production workshop collapsed. In lightly damaged enterprises, the workers as a whole are temporarily on vacation and wait for the accident to be processed before normal production. In addition, with the explosion, the supply of some raw materials to coating companies was restricted. According to the instructions issued by the Tianjin Accident Emergency Center, vehicles transporting chemical materials were restricted from entering the company's production plant.
Coatings companies are in the downstream link of the fine chemical product supply chain. Product manufacturing is closely related to chemical raw materials. The materials required for manufacturing are mainly "chemical raw materials". Therefore, there is a "lip cold" relationship between coatings manufacturing companies and chemical raw material suppliers.
The Tianjin Lingang Industrial Zone, not far from the incident, is a national petrochemical base planned by the National Development and Reform Commission, one of the key development areas of the “11th Five-Year Plan” of Tianjin and Tianjin Binhai New Area, and a chemical industrial zone of Tianjin Binhai New Area The core component of Lingang Industrial Zone.
It is precisely because of the excellent raw material market supply and the convenient transportation conditions that these well-known paint manufacturers have set up factories here, but after the explosion, more stringent market management regulations will be ushered in, and the cost of storage will be corresponding. The increase, for the enterprises around Beijing, Tianjin, and Hebei, within the next half month, it will be a high probability event to be required to cooperate with security rectification. At the same time, future production costs in Tianjin and even around Beijing and Hebei will inevitably rise.
